An Act of Love

An Act of Love

———-oOo———-

Dear friends,

In the straightforward practical terms of daily life, it must be understood that when I extend an invitation for support, it is not a letter from the CEO of an organization providing a financial statement to its stockholders. Nor is it an impersonal plea sent out to everyone—whoever “everyone” might be.

It is, instead, a communication from me to you on behalf of two individuals who are not only making the gift of what I am sharing, but bearing the responsibility for the underlying elements that make it possible—phone service, high-speed internet service, website servers, a place to do the work (together with the utilities necessary), the meeting of their needs in terms of salary, and so on. Not only that, they must do it in a way that satisfies the financial requirements and obligations in a responsible way so that these underlying elements are not terminated for lack of payment.

Now, the key words in that paragraph are, “on behalf of two individuals.”

When I share that “we must address the remaining unpaid expenses for April now,” and that “they amount to $3,931,” it means that Paul and Susan are responsible to the creditors involved to see to it that the debts are paid. It also means that these two people—not a “business” called a “non-profit corporation”—who have not received a paycheck since the 2nd of April are, themselves, in the uncomfortable position of significant lack.

And so it is important to understand that real people—Paul and Susan—are making a gift to someone else who is real—you—without strings (as an act of love and not an act of commerce), and it is intimate, not impersonal. It is an act of Brotherhood and Sisterhood in support of Brotherhood and Sisterhood. It is a love of me shared. And it is them, sharing themselves with you.

To arrive at today’s date with $177.65 in the Foundation’s bank account and $2,936 of April’s normal expenses unpaid (as well as the property taxes) makes the experience of peace difficult, and I am here to promote peace.

My appreciation for those whose contributions have been received is extended to each and every one of you, and I invite everyone to see that we all share in the continuance of extending what I am here to teach.

In light of this, I once again invite your support.

Thank you very much.
