Thoughtfulness and Love

Thoughtfulness and Love

————-oOo————-

Dear friends,

The following, in one form or another has been expressed throughout the years, and I want us to look at it again:

–oOo–

All of the activities and materials of the Northwest Foundation for “A Course in Miracles” are provided without charge or obligation.

This is possible because of thoughtfulness, love extended without condition. Such is the nature of Gift. As a result, these activities and materials are available to you because someone like you has already gifted you with them. And, at Raj’s instruction, these materials will never be sold.

If you would like to add your thoughtfulness and love, to gift others with the availability of these activities and materials, you are invited to send your tax-deductible contributions to:

NWFFACIM
P.O. Box 1490
Kingston, WA 98346
USA

–oOo–

Now, on the 15th of this month, I shared a need with everyone, together with an invitation of support in the meeting of that need—an invitation for the expression of thoughtfulness and love.

It is important to realize that even though thoughtfulness and love may take the form of a tax-deductible contribution, it cannot be construed to be anything other than an extension of thoughtfulness and love, an act of caring, because there is no transaction!

It doesn’t get you something you don’t already have, and your already having it is because someone . . . literally someone . . . has actually gifted you with it—whether it’s me, or Paul, or Susan, or any of a number of contributors over the years.

Now, I understand that it is very hard to shift from impersonal transactional economics to intimate unconditional Brotherhood, which is alert to the presence of need and the meeting of it as a gift because that’s Love! It is hard because impersonal transactional economics does not have to be alive to Brotherhood, and  Love does!

Commercialism is easier, because it ignores humanness and the richness, tenderness and nurturing elements of humanity and humaneness, which draw divinity into relationships, illuminating the holiness of each one as the Son or Daughter of God.

Commerce—the mechanism by which fulfillment is “created”—is driven by the belief that safety is to be found in control, and from control comes power, and from power comes the authority to create “good.” And the purveyors of commerce, the ones with the authority, will be the ones who will tell you “what” good is. Whereas, Love starts with you and your brother. Love starts with need. And by Its Nature and Presence, which is the Good, It transforms the need through Gift—through grace not power, through inspiration not control—and this is where safety and fulfillment are found!

I am sharing this because the shift from commercialism to Brotherhood, from defense to embrace, from manipulation to cooperation, from fear to Love, is where the world finds itself. Mankind’s foot is on this threshold! And here is where we can do the learning.

I cannot teach anyone how to love, nor can you. But I can point everyone in the right direction:

Look into your brother’s eyes.

Look into your brother’s eyes and remember God! Start with each other instead of a good “business concept,” so that you might meet the need instead of getting the upper hand.

Your divinity emerges right through the middle of your humanity as you are humane with your brother, as you let yourself be in relationship with him . . . involved to bless!

Since the invitation was extended on September 15th, twenty-nine contributions were gratefully received which met the need by the 20th, and eleven more were received since, covering more of the Foundation’s expenses and leaving a current balance in the bank of $283.75.

The remainder of September’s expenses together with first-of-the-month expenses amount to approximately $4,500 and there are still three paychecks for the month of September amounting to $2,562 which Paul is unable to cash for lack of funds. And, in addition, October brings with it a yearly payment of $2,400 to the IRS due on the 15th.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.

All of us together are the Brotherhood,
and Brotherhood is our business!
This is what we are teaching
and learning.

Don’t worry about ‘commercialism’ – but make sure that whatever you do embodies the sharing of true worth – regardless of what it seems to be in the thinking of the world. Those who have, give of what they have, to keep it in awareness – and those who have not – shall find even that little they thought to have for themselves – taken away.
