The Gift of Love — Further Update

______________________________

Dear friends,

To each of you who responded to my invitation on the 17th, thank you!  Your contributions made it possible to cover the majority of the expenses which came due on the 20th, and gratitude for that supports this invitation to help with meeting the continuing need.

I realize that functioning on the basis of Gift is awkward because it is unfamiliar.  It is much easier to function on the familiar basis of commerce — “this” for “that.”

1 Book . . . $15

The only thing is, that such transactions lack the inclusiveness and extension which are inseparable from the function of Gift, where the result is that everyone has that book, and the audio, and all of the rest of our materials, all the time!  Truth, no matter how profound, is not like a work of art to be sold for a sum to an art collector to have in his private collection, where only he and those he chooses to share it with can see it!

The truth of the statement, “To have, give all to all,” must become grounded in the world in terms of actual behavior and attitude.  It must be rendered practical, and not left in the realm of theoretical principle.  Now is when to do it.  Now is when we are doing it.  And it is self-evident that the way we function is completely consistent with that statement.

I know that everyone can understand the necessity of making our work available everywhere with no strings attached.  But one cannot afford to assume that it’s just a radical idea, peculiar to the way I must operate in the world in order to facilitate Atonement.  If you do, you will treat it as an oddity to either respond to or ignore, or be amused by, or even respect — neglecting to engage in it with commitment because you’ve realized that it represents a new way for you to be, and in the being of it, grounding it in the world.

As a result, I continue to inform everyone of the need in order that we, together, might keep the Gift alive in the world — embracing with it, blessing with it, unifying with it.

And so, I must share that by the end of the day, today, the balance in the Foundation’s account will be slightly more than $200.  There is still $2,200 needed to cover the balance of the expenses which were due by the 20th, and the ongoing expenses of making the Gift continue.  As I said before:  The need is immediate.  The Gift is continuous.  Everyone is blessed by the Gift of Love.  And I invite everyone to join us in making that Gift.
